RMINER / FIELD GUIDE

Bitcoin mining. Clear and practical.

A guide for site owners, engineers, and finance teams: what happens between an ASIC and settlement, which numbers matter, and how to run a pilot.

01

THE BASICS

From electricity to an accepted share.

An ASIC performs a huge stream of computations. The pool issues jobs, accepts results, and measures the equipment's useful work.

01

ASIC

Computes SHA-256 and tests candidates.

02

Stratum

Carries jobs and responses between the device and pool.

03

Share

Proves a completed amount of computation.

04

Accounting

Links accepted work to a settlement period.

The key idea

Hashrate estimates work speed, while accepted shares confirm that the pool saw the work. That is why both metrics must be compared.

02

READ THE DATA

Six metrics instead of one.

A large hashrate number alone does not prove stability. Portal metrics should be read together.

01 / HASHRATE

Estimated hashrate

An estimate of computational speed from accepted work. Short intervals fluctuate, so use a multi-hour average for comparisons.

02 / ACCEPTED

Accepted work

Shares acknowledged by the pool. They are the basis for operationally estimating a worker's contribution.

03 / REJECTED

Rejected work

An error, duplicate, or late response. The rate and its trend matter more than a single event.

04 / LATENCY

Response latency

Time from share submission to acknowledgement. Rising p95 can expose a network issue before hashrate falls.

05 / ONLINE

Worker freshness

Online means the device submitted recent work. It does not replace checking hashrate and accepted shares.

06 / EARNINGS

Earnings

Estimate is preliminary. Confirmed belongs to a closed settlement period. Balance reflects ledger entries and payouts.

03

CONNECT AN ASIC

Three fields and a controlled start.

Labels vary between firmware versions, but the meaning stays the same.

  1. 01

Create a worker in the portal

Save the credential immediately; it is not shown again.

  2. 02

    Fill in the primary pool

Do not change frequency, firmware, and network at the same time or the pilot result will be ambiguous.

  3. 03

    Wait for data

Check online status, accepted shares, and the absence of persistent rejects.

04

VALIDATE

A good pilot answers with data.

Compare equal intervals on healthy equipment and define success criteria in advance.

01

Record the baseline

ASIC hashrate, temperature, frequency, network, and the prior day's statistics.

02

Give the test time

Hours can validate networking; financial validation requires a complete settlement cycle.

03

Review deviations

Reject rate, disconnects, p95 latency, and the gap between local and estimated hashrate.

04

Close the settlement

Reconcile confirmed earnings, fee, balance, and payout record.

READY TO TEST

Start with one worker.
